Ripple’s XRP Launches on Crypto Payment Platform With 5 Million Users
Five million people can now say goodbye to traditional fiat and use XRP to pay their bills.
Filipino cryptocurrency news site BitPinas says it’s confirmed that XRP is now available for use on the cryptocurrency payment platform coins.ph.
The site allows users in the Philippines to pay their bills directly in cryptocurrency. The site launched in 2014 and says it currently has 5 million users, with plans to build its customer base to 20 million by 2020. The company also offers Bitcoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash.
So far, XRP has made its debut on the company’s Android app.
The news comes on the heels of another big advancement in XRP’s quest for mainstream adoption.
XRP hodlers are now able to use the Wirex Visa card to pay for everyday items. Just hours after enabling the option, users collectively transferred millions of dollars worth of XRP and began spending it on everyday items.
