NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers Partner With Crypto and Blockchain Company UnitedCoin

The Cleveland Cavaliers are among the first major league sports teams in the US to partner with a blockchain and crypto company.

The team will advertise UnitedCoin during games at its arena in downtown Cleveland, Ohio according to a press release. UnitedCoin will also advertise with Cavs Legion, an e-sports team that plays games on Twitch.

The Cavaliers president of business operations, Nic Barlage, says the team supports emerging tech in the US.

“As decentralized technology continues to evolve, we know it is important for us to stay ahead of the curve and plan for how it will impact our fan experience and business as we move forward.

We are happy to team up with UnitedCoin, a like-minded company motivated by innovative technology to help us do that and are excited about how this partnership will bring blockchain technology to life for our fans.”

UnitedCoin says it has registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The platform promises to let users send and receive fiat and cryptocurrencies using an email or phone number, as well as connect to a Mastercard debit card to spend crypto on goods and services.

Last week, the Litecoin Foundation announced its partnership with the Miami Dolphins. It will place advertisements for the fourth largest crypto by market cap at the team’s NFL stadium as well as online.
