Financial Giant SBI Says Shareholders Will Soon Receive Dividends in XRP
Japanese financial giant SBI says it’s launching a shareholder benefits program that pays out in XRP.
According to a press release, people and organizations who own at least 100 shares of SBI Holdings will earn 30 XRP.
“We would like to provide our shareholders with the opportunity to use the virtual currency XRP in addition to the information provided by the ‘My Virtual Currency’ app. Going forward, we will continue working to improve shareholder value, thank our shareholders for their daily support and patronage, and continue to improve overall shareholder returns…
As already announced, the Company has applied for market changes to the Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section, and will use September 30, 2019 as the record date for further profit return to shareholders. We decided to increase the interim dividend, and at the same time, decided to present the virtual currency XRP as an intermediary shareholder benefit program.”
To receive the digital asset, shareholders will first have to sign up to SBI’s crypto exchange, VCTrade.
SBI is a longtime Ripple partner, and first invested in Ripple in January of 2016. The company offers several services for its customers, from brokerage and investment banking to foreign exchange.
