Crypto Whales Move Millions in XRP, Plus Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron, Ripple, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, IOTA: Crypto News Flash

From a trio of XRP whales on the move to a new milestone for the Bitcoin Lightning Network, here’s a look at some of the stories breaking in the world of crypto.

Ripple and XRP

Crypto whale watchers are monitoring a trio of huge XRP transfers.

A few hours ago, someone moved 90,000,000 XRP worth $33.5 million from one unknown wallet to another. Soon after, another 30,000,000 XRP worth $11 million moved between two unknown wallets.

Neither batch appears to be headed to an exchange.

That’s not the case for another batch of 51,317,796 XRP that was sent on Friday. That transfer, worth about $22.3 million, was sent to Bitstamp, which indicates it could be a trader preparing to sell.

Ripple, which regularly sells large amounts of the XRP it owns, does not appear to be involved in any of the transfers, according to Whale Alert.

Apart from these three big transfers and Coinbase’s recent transfer of a whopping $5 billion in crypto, year-end whales have been relatively quiet.

Bitcoin

The capacity of the Bitcoin Lightning Network (LN) is rising.

New stats from 1ML show the total capacity of the network is now just over 500 BTC, or nearly $2 million. The number of new nodes is also up 32, roughly 68% within the past 24 hours.
