Crypto Whales Awaken, Plus Ripple and XRP, Tron, Ethereum, IOTA, Stellar, Litecoin, Monero: Crypto News Flash

From millions in XRP, Bitcoin, and Ethereum on the move to a new milestone on the Lightning Network, here’s a look at some of the stories breaking in the world of crypto.

Crypto Whales

Over the last 12 hours, large amounts of crypto are on the move. None of the transfers appear to be traders getting ready to sell.

The biggest transactions are connected to Ripple, which owns about 60% of the total supply of XRP. In a single transaction, Ripple sent 40,000,000 XRP worth $12.9 million from its over-the-counter distribution wallet to a separate wallet owned by the company.

Soon after, another 26,000,000 XRP worth $8.3 million was transferred from an unknown wallet to a wallet owned by Ripple. At the same time, another 13,000,000 XRP worth $4.1 million was transferred between two unknown wallets.

In addition, a big Bitcoin whale has surfaced, moving 3,284 Bitcoin, worth $11.4 million, from crypto exchange Poloniex to an unknown wallet. Whale watchers also spotted a multi-million dollar Ethereum transaction, with $2.4 million moving from the BitUNio crypto exchange to an unknown wallet.

Bitcoin

The Bitcoin Lightning Network has reached a new milestone.

The network’s overall capacity has reached 600 BTC, according to data from monitoring resource 1ML. The scaling solution is designed to help Bitcoin scale and increase the speed of transactions.
