Binance’s Trust Wallet Now Supports Zcash
Zcash is now available on Trust Wallet, a multi cryptocurrency wallet app acquired by Binance in 2018. Trust Wallet added support for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin earlier this year. It also supports Tron, Ethereum Classic, VeChain, Icon, all ERC20, ERC721 and ERC223 tokens, among other coins.
Support for Zcash on iOS and Android will enable basic functionality. The company says it plans to add advanced privacy features such as private addresses in the future.
Binance Initiative for Students
Binance is piloting a new charity program for African schools. Starting in Uganda, “Lunch for Children” will provide two meals a day to over 200 students and school staff.
Binance Charity Foundation (BCF) plans to expand the program to Rwanda, Kenya and Ethiopia to reach one million students.
Many adorable kids here are unfortunately dropping off from school just because food is not affordable for them. We see intelligence and creativity from their eyes but can they get equal access to opportunities? What we donate is not only cryptocurrency, but HOPE. @binance pic.twitter.com/iNimIqRclU

Crypto donations will be distributed to wallets held by the students’ parents or legal guardians. Unlike donations made by check or cash, crypto funds are traceable, allowing administrators to verify that the donations are being used as intended.
Zcoin and Kenya-based non-profit Dream Building Service are among BCF’s partners in the campaign. Zcoin pledged $24,000 in cryptocurrency to provide breakfast and lunch to students and school staff for one year.
Reuben Yap, chief operating officer of Zcoin says,
“When BCF first reached out to us and told us about their charity efforts, we were intrigued especially when we learned how the funds were directly traceable to the direct end recipient and how they ensured that those cryptocurrencies could be spent on goods.
Uganda’s Minster of State for Primary Education, Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, applauds BCF’s blockchain-based donation system which is being used for the campaign. She highlights the benefits of educating staff and parents about blockchain technology.
Seninde explains,
“It is not only a donation but a disruptive and significant combination of technology and charity, which enables a higher level of trust between stakeholders involved in this process because people are protected from potential corruption that is vulnerable with middlemen. All the allocation records are demonstrated on the blockchain which is immutable. I firmly believe that the public trust and willingness to participate in this intervention will grow dramatically as the donors see their goodwill changing the lives of the students, in real time.”
